Anganjyoti – Solar Power for Learning Spaces with KIMS Health (CSR)

With KIMS Health (CSR)

For many early learning centres, unreliable electricity affects daily routines—from lighting and ventilation to basic operations such as cooking and classroom activities. Power disruptions can directly impact the comfort, safety, and learning environment of young children.

To address this, Thanal Trust, with support from KIMS Health through its CSR initiative, launched the Anganjyoti Program—a clean energy intervention designed to support early learning spaces with renewable power. As part of the programme, solar energy systems were installed to provide reliable electricity for educational facilities, reducing dependence on grid power and supporting more resilient, environmentally responsible anganwadis.

On 31 October 2025, the Anganjyoti Program was inaugurated at the Thachambath and Mundanadapp Anganwadis, introducing solar-powered electricity to early childhood learning environments. The systems now support everyday operations, including lighting and kitchen activities, ensuring uninterrupted functioning even during power outages.

What Changed
  • Reliable electricity for early learning centres
  • Improved indoor comfort and safer learning environments for children
  • Reduced electricity costs for the facilities
  • Exposure of children and communities to clean, renewable energy

Beyond infrastructure, the programme helps normalise renewable energy as part of everyday life.
